Good News for Travellers: UNWTO Just Launched a Travelling Competition

 

UNWTO just announced the launch of a competition that would run as part of the ‘Travel.Enjoy.Respect’ campaign, planned to take place during the course of the International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development 2017 for travellers around the world

The prize for the competition features an adventure accross the world with stopovers in various tourism initiatives. The aim of the competition is to promote the awareness that sustainable tourism can make contributions towards development,

Eligible Candidates

If you’re above 18, an ardent responsible traveller with a deep rooted knack for sharing your experiences with the world, and you believe you embody the core message of the “Travel.Enjoy.Respect” campaign, then you’re qualified for this generous competition.

To Apply

Applications are recieved at the ‘Travel.Enjoy.Respect’ website travelenjoyrespect.org where you’d be required to submit one or two photos and an entry of 200 words in English. In your application entry, you’re expected to explain and convince that you are the true candidate for this journey and give reasons why you should be selected.

The Journey

The UNWTO Headquarters in Madrid will host the beginning of the journey: an official ‘delegation’ ceremony with the Secretary General. The journey will be concluded at the closing ceremony of the International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development 2017 in Geneva, Switzerland.

Supported by the adventure travel group, Explore WorldWide, the winner will visit destinations that have offered to host. These places are Germany, Mexico,  Colombia, the Léman region in Switzerland and the United Arab Emirate of Ras al-Khaimah.

So it’s time for you, if you’re passionate about travelling, to cease the opportunity to see the world and help promote the campaign for responsible travel. You too can show what it means to be the change you want see in the world! It’s on!
