Yury Vlasko, a Russian amateur wrestler was stabbed to death on July 29th, 2017. The 20-year-old amateur wrestler was stabbed to death outside Ulan-Ude in Buryatia, Russia.
Yury Vlasko was a native of Osa Village. He contested and won a gold medal under the 96-kilogramme weight at the international wrestling tournament in Ulan-Ude. Reports claimed he invited his friends to visit the famous Lake Baikal after his victory. His colleagues raised an alarm when he did not return from Ulan-Ude.
The report by police stated the group of friends were visiting the lake shore near Goryachinsk village where they were involved in a conflict with another group of Ulan-Ude natives that have been previously convicted of theft.
The conflict resulted in a mass brawl and led to the fatal stabbing and death of the Vlasko. He was stabbed in the neck and chest. Three of the attackers have been arrested and investigations are currently ongoing by the city’s local police. The body of Vlasko was buried on July 31st, 2017 in his native village of Osa.
A shocking video of his gory death has been released online that shows the details of his death. The video of the murder which took place in Buryatia shows how the attackers stabbed Vlasko in the chest and neck. He was wearing a red track suit before he was attacked with a knife to the chest. As he was falling to the ground, a second attacker hit him on the head multiple times with an iron bar. The two attackers continued to beat him while lying unconscious on the ground until he died. The local police have arrested both men possibly facing life jail term.
The fighting was arrested by one of the assailants who fired a non-lethal handgun at the ground. The natives who watched the ongoing mass brawl fled the scene while his friends quickly called an ambulance to attempt a medical rescue. He reportedly died while his friends were waiting for the arrival of the ambulance.
Yury Vlaskov had mastered wrestling at international level as he had won several competitions in free-style wrestling in the 96 kilogrammes category. He won international wrestling tournaments in Iran, Turkey and the Russian cup. He recently stated his desire to compete in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics where he had the ambition of winning a medal. Yury Vlasko while talking to Baikal Daily in June, said “My dream as for many other athletes is to become an Olympic champion. Not everyone can get to the Olympics, but I think I can definitely make it. This is the only thing I seriously consider. I am in the very beginning. I always tell myself that it’s important not to fear anything, to endure and give all that you have. That’s the way to become a top wrestler.”
